What is Tamana? 

Tamana is the Malagasy word (the language of Madagascar) that translates into English meaning "to feel at home". From 2019-2020, I served in the Peace Corps in Madagascar as an educational volunteer. In Malagasy culture it is very important that they make their guest feel at home or Tamana. I was frequently asked by my friends, coworkers, and host family if I was Tamana in Madagascar and specifically in my village. My goals since returning home is to educate others about my experience in Madagascar and about their unique culture. With that, I hope my candles can make you feel Tamana wherever you may burn them.

 

Why Soy Wax? 

Soy wax candles are the healthiest candles you can burn creating no petro soot because they are derived from vegetables (in comparison to its counter partner, paraffin wax, that is derived from petroleum). Most high end companies produce petroleum based candles with toxic fragrances, leaving behind black residue and carcinogens in the air.

Why Essential Oils?

Burning essential oils is not only healthy for your body physically but, also promotes better mental health through aromatherapy. Each candles scent is composed of either, all essential oils or a measured blend of essential oils and Clean Scents fragrance oils.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of plant volatile oils or essential oils. These oils offer physical and psychological benefits when used appropriately and safely! Burning essential oils is known to cause the release of different neurotransmitters in the brain that, in return, promote different feelings & moods. The advantages of essential oil aromas, upon use, can be detected almost instantaneously for many people.

What are Clean Scents Fragrances?

Clean Scents Fragrances are fragrances that are made up of a both essential oils and fragrance that DOES NOT contain carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, or acute toxins. These fragrances surpass the standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) to ensure that the candle you are burning is safe and healthy for you, your family and all those around you.
